North Devon Marine Wildlife Aware Accredited...

What is that?

I am back from some rather fantastic training at the Burton Gallery this morning with the wonderful Sarah Jordan, the Biosphere Business Partner Coordinator and TDC Nature Tourism Officer, which was delivered by Beccy MacDonald-Lofts. Beccy is a freelance Marine Conservation & Education Consultant. Today we were learning about how to help protect the marine wildlife of north Devon. We learned about wildlife, the legalities and the wider sustainability context.

What does the Accreditation mean?

When on Sketch Walks, we may come into contact with wildlife so it is important to be clued up on how to avoid causing any disruption or worse damage. By undertaking this training I am making a commitment to promote awareness and to minimise the impact of my business on the north Devon Unesco Biosphere.

How to book a walk?

I have added dates to my diary so you are welcome to book in via my website. If you cannot see the walk you are looking for e.g. Marwood, just give me a nudge and I will get one sorted, I am just planning around my MA Illustration and other small folks commitments.

Accommodation Providers

I am offering local accommodation providers a free walk so that they can tell their guests about the walks and confidently promote them within their business as a green and health giving activity in a beautiful place. Get in touch and we can get you booked in.

Changes for Spring Summer 2023.

Walks are now 2 hours in length unless otherwise arranged and cost £25 per person. You are welcome to hire a sketch kit for £5 and that includes a free sketch book, or if you prefer, simply bring your own things.

I look forwards to seeing you on a walk soon!

Emma
