What is a sketch walk?

All welcome!

These are guided walks in beautiful locations.  They give people the opportunity, space, time, and support to draw the scenery and take in their surroundings.  In a world of busy lives, these walks are a peaceful blend of creativity and nature.

You do not need to be able to draw, or have any formal training.  We welcome art class drop-outs and portrait artists alike!  I mean it, we love stick men!

I offer a variety of walk durations (1.5hrs, 3hrs, half day and full day) and locations so you can choose what works for you.

Sketch Walks offer a unique way to experience nature, improve creativity, and connect with others.  All walks have scheduled stops for refreshments at cafes (not-included).

what to bring

Sketchbooks and Materials

I offer a pocket sized Sketch Walk Bundle which includes a hand bound sketch pad (A6), a charcoal pencil and a black postcard for you to customise and send to a friend.  This can be ordered for your walk.

But it is up to you if you prefer to bring your own sketchbook and pens.

What to Wear?

I recommend wearing light, warm clothing, with lots of layers and a woolly hat.  We can be walking up and down hills and stopping and starting so it is useful to bring a backpack to put your various layer into.

I wear walking boots.  The ground can be uneven and sometimes slippery so it is worthwhile wearing a waterproof boot.
